Therapy for Depression
for Individuals in Ontario, Alberta, and BC
When the World Feels Heavy
You’ve been doing your best—keeping up with responsibilities, showing up for others, and pushing through each day—but it’s all starting to feel heavier. What once felt manageable now takes more effort. Even simple tasks can feel draining. You find yourself running on empty, feeling disconnected from joy, and wondering how much longer you can keep this up.
You might wonder:
-
Why does everything feel so effortful—even the things that used to come easily?
-
Why do I feel so disconnected from the people and things I care about?
-
Why do I feel like I’m just getting through the day instead of living it?
-
What would it even look like to feel like myself again?
What Depression Can Look Like:
-
Difficulty focusing or staying motivated
-
Feeling guilty for resting or needing support
-
A sense of disconnection from yourself or others
-
Feeling like a burden or struggling with self-worth
-
Irritability or tearfulness that’s hard to explain
-
Feeling stuck in patterns of perfectionism or over-functioning
-
Shame about how you’re feeling—and why you can’t "just snap out of it"
What you’re feeling may be connected to patterns that have built up over time—ways of coping, striving, or staying silent that once helped you get by. The heaviness you carry might be shaped by unspoken expectations, early relationships, or the pressure to hold everything together. In therapy, we can begin to gently untangle these layers and explore what it might look like to relate to yourself with more compassion, clarity, and ease.
My Approach
Therapy can be a place to slow down, reflect, and explore what’s been weighing on you. You don’t need to have everything figured out—just a sense that you're ready to start talking about what’s been hard.
Many of the people I work with have spent years putting others first, hiding their pain, or pushing through exhaustion. Over time, this can lead to a deep sense of disconnection, low mood, and self-doubt. In our sessions, there’s space for you to show up just as you are—tired, uncertain, or overwhelmed—and know that that’s enough.
My approach to supporting depression is grounded in:
-
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – helping you connect with your emotions and what they may be asking for
-
Psychodynamic therapy – exploring the patterns, beliefs, and early experiences that shape how you relate to yourself and others
-
Compassion-based therapy – softening the harsh inner voice and learning to meet yourself with care
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – identifying unhelpful thought patterns and building tools to shift how you respond to them
I offer online therapy to individuals across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia who are looking for meaningful, compassionate support for depression. Therapy isn’t about fixing who you are—it’s about coming into deeper understanding and alignment with yourself.
Together, We’ll:
-
Identify your patterns of anxiety and what sustains them
-
Practice approaching anxiety with curiosity instead of avoidance or control
-
Explore boundaries, unmet needs, and the fear of being “too much” or “not enough”
-
Cultivate a more compassionate relationship with yourself
You Don’t Have to Navigate This Alone
If you’ve been silently struggling, unsure if your pain is "serious enough" to seek help, I want to gently remind you: you don’t need to wait until things get worse to reach out. Therapy can offer a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect—with yourself, your needs, and what truly matters to you.
