Therapy for Anxiety

for Individuals in Ontario, Alberta, and BC

You’re Not Just “Overthinking” — Your Body and Mind are Working Hard to Keep You Safe

Anxiety can feel like a constant hum in the background or a full-blown alarm. You may find yourself stuck in cycles of worry, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or avoiding situations altogether. Even rest can feel like something you have to earn. While others might tell you to “just relax,” you know it’s not that simple.

What Anxiety Can Look Like:

  • Difficulty making decisions or feeling paralyzed by options

  • Racing thoughts that are hard to calm

  • Worry about what others think of you

  • Feeling on edge, tense, or unable to relax

  • Trouble sleeping or focusing

  • Constant self-doubt or fear of making mistakes

  • Avoiding situations that feel uncertain or overwhelming

Anxiety is more than a mental experience — it often feels like a part of you is on high alert, scanning for what could go wrong. This part is trying to protect you — often from criticism, rejection, failure, or pain. But over time, it can become exhausting and isolating.

My Approach to Anxiety Therapy

In therapy, we create space to understand this protective part of you — what it's trying to do, what it fears, and how it's been shaped by past experiences. Rather than trying to “get rid” of anxiety, we get curious about what it wants and needs, and we work toward meeting those needs in ways that don’t hurt you or keep you stuck.

I integrate:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help untangle anxious thought patterns

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to explore the emotional roots and relational patterns connected to anxiety

  • Psychodynamic therapy to understand deeper themes that may be contributing to your sense of unease

Together, We’ll:

  • Identify your patterns of anxiety and what sustains them

  • Practice approaching anxiety with curiosity instead of avoidance or control

  • Explore boundaries, unmet needs, and the fear of being “too much” or “not enough”

  • Cultivate a more compassionate relationship with yourself

You Don’t Have to Navigate This Alone

Anxiety can make you feel like you have to “figure it out” on your own. But healing often begins in safe connection. I offer virtual therapy for anxiety for adults and young adults.

Let’s work together to help you feel more grounded, less overwhelmed, and more like yourself.

📍 I offer online therapy for individuals in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia.
